Age

R. Z. Genkina dates the Shurab suite deposits to the Bathonian and partially the Upper Jurassic. According to T. A. Sixtelle, the considered layer corresponds to the Callovian - Oxfordian and possibly Kimmeridgian. The plant remains encountered in this suite cannot unambiguously answer the question of age. The complex is impoverished, among the remains there are no leading forms of the Bathonian stage and the Upper Jurassic. Therefore, this question remains controversial.
